ENGLISH WITH A TWIST
Photography by Ruth Audu
One thing I love about blogging, is being able to inspire and be inspired. Since I started this blog I have been pushing myself to try outfit pairings that I would never have ordinarily put together or thought of. Now, this particular look is inspired by Ada of No ordinary she.
In recent times we have all seen the popularity of ankara African print fabric in the fashion industry. In Nigeria, our traditional attires are called natives while jeans and a T-shirt is referred to as English wear hence the tittle of this post. I love the mix of modern and traditional in this look. The shirt, jeans and flats keep it simple while the head-wrap adds a nice pop of colour and print (tutorial here)
Shirt: Vintage (Here)|| Pants: H&M (Here) || Flats (Here), Bag (Here): Bangkok Street Market || Head-wrap: Mom's wrapper
You always look great in a turban...And you do inspire too.I might just try tying one soon.

As you said "One thing I love about blogging, is being able to inspire and be inspired", I agree and keep saying the same. And now I am really inspired with the head wrap add. :-) Very nice.

hi Sarah! I am BACK! #1, I love your new blog design #2, I love your smile and #3, This scarf is tremendous. I dreamed of doing such when I was bald but actually didn't like anything on my head. I only wore a small scarf when I knew I would be around small children. They didn't tolerate it well. lol ♥
ReplyDeleteYou look stunning! Love everything about this look!

I've always loved your outfit pairings but it's good to push ourselves sometimes. Love this eccentric look. You have a great smile.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love this! There's always something a bit retro about cropped black slim fitting trousers, and they look great with the simple white shirt and then then knock-out headscarf. Lovely! x
ReplyDeleteLove the head wrap!!
