HOW TO STYLE A KIMONO 1
These past few months have not been easy as I mentioned. One of my biggest challenges is being happy for the success of others while I'm just here. It's easy to come here and put up a good front but some days are better than others. I mean how can one be truly happy for others when you're not exactly satisfied with your current state in life? At times like these I am reminded of the Mary Mary song "I Can't Give Up Now". While it's hard to be truly happy for others, I remember how I prayed for them and how we gushed about our future plans and goals. So I thank God for their success and I know that my time will come.
Now for today's post. I find kimonos to be one of the most versatile pieces in my wardrobe. They can be worn as tops (as seen here and here) and not to mention they make great covers for dresses and jeans (as seen here and here). I don't know why I didn't include this item in my list of wardrobe basics. This particular pair from Mr Price has been my go-to fit for casual and dressy looks. I will be doing a series of posts showing you more ways to rock kimonos.
P.S. For more ways to style a kimono check out my look-book.
What's your take on kimonos as a closet essential?
I perfectly relate...but one has to try and stay happy and believe that ur time will definitely come
ReplyDeleteGirl....i love the new location and I love this look and the pop of colour...beautiful

i know what you mean about being happy for others when you are pretty much not happy with where you are but i feel like thats the devils work tempting an hungry man with stone...i just avoid situations like that or psych myself that my own will come soon.
ReplyDeletekimonos are pretty versatile so i like them.x

I say it otherwise. Be happy because the others wish you to be happy. Try to focus also on you meanwhile you focus on the others. Try to focus on reaching your happiness meanwhile you enjoy happiness of the others.
ReplyDeleteBtw the kimono is nice and not only the kimono but the whole combination and you look beautiful.
Have a nice day :-)

Beautiful post! God sometimes keeps us hidden so he can polish us to perfection before putting us on display to the whole world. Be patient in the process. Their is beauty in the process. You are a beautiful person inside and out it shows through your posts. And thank you for sharing that lovely song by Mary Mary! I love them :)
ReplyDeleteMan this was really encouraging! Thank you!
DeleteLove your kimono! I always wanted to get one but I never knew to style them until now.So thanks for this so much! <3. I find it difficult to be happiness for others' success sometimes too. It's a challenge, because it's a reminder that you're not doing that. But like you said, thank God for their success and just wait for our turn :)

It's not easy but it's important I think to be (genuinely) happy for others, because keeping the negativity is not really healthy. Plus as you said yourself, your time will come!
ReplyDeleteI love your kimono, so pretty!
