SQUARED

Photograpy by Me

The moral decadence in our society is quite sad and alarming.  One is now criticized for actually having strong principles. Where is our generation going to? The question I keep asking myself. There was a time where people were admired for having standards. But now a lack of them seems to have become the status quo. People expect you to join them in doing whatever, no matter if it's wrong or right. One is now questioned and scoffed at for being different. It is unfortunate, they tell you to be different then condemn you for not being like them.

I have been called uptight, because of my selectiveness of the type of people I associate with. I've been told that I don't know how to have fun because I don't feel the need to go clubbing. The trick is to not pay these people any mind. It may be hard at times but always stay true to who you are. Just because everyone is doing something, that does not make it right. Stick with what you're comfortable with because at the end of the day you have to face yourself. You get the privilege of seeing yourself in the mirror every day for the rest of your life.
So don't be afraid to standout.

Now on a lighter note, I've never been a fan of mathematics, especially not geometry but the different variations of squares is what attracted me to this shirt. I decided to go for a monochrome look with my black Jeggings and then added a pop of red. This is a simple outfit than can easily be dressed down with either sneakers or flats as shown above.

How would you style this graphic shirt?

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God

I agree hunn. It's a sad reality, so many people just doing whatever and being rewarded for it. What gets me is the huge shift to sex sells, I don't believe in showing my body for attention, regardless of likes and followers. However, that's how you gain followers and validation. I recently talked about being a misfit in my blogpost about being a misfit. What people need to understand is you can be successful without all those things.

Beautiful beautiful write up. I have never believed anything else, you need to hear how many times I have been called, the thing is after a while I even tried to blend in and now I want all of my weirdness back. Not joking.
On a lighter note - Please dry clean that shirt until you come to Abuja to give me :D.

Unfortunately that is indeed the world we live in, but it is refreshing to see that there are still a lot of people that keep their standards high and don't dumbly follow trends. What I do find sad is how people show skin on social media, and leave nothing to the imagination. As to people judging you for who you choose to associate yourself with, people will always talk no matter what so it's just best to do you. I'd like to add that sometimes the way some people dress don't reflect their personality, you can have people wearing decent clothes with an awful personality and vice-versa, you can have friends who like to go clubbing but not go clubbing yourself, or you can have friends who wear tighter clothes even though you don't do it yourself. But like I said before, people will talk so you just do you :)
Back to your outfit, I love the shirt and the pop of red from your shoes!!

@SincerelyMissJ It really is, sex sells but we can do without it. Bloggers like Style Pantry and Jadore Fashion have prooved that. I actually talked about this issue in my post titled "nudity the new normal". Thanks for you feedback girl, I'll be checking out the post.
@Dleonalife I feel you girl, tried to blend in too but its not worth it at all. As for the shirt too late lol, I've given to my sis already.
@Benedict very sad indeed. Thanks for commenting

@Diane It is refreshing indeed. It is sad that nudity is the new normal, we talked about it in that post.I do agree with you on what you said about friends though I still prefer to hang out with like-minded people so as to not get influenced.

this shirt is everything and more. Talking about the morals of our society is a story for another day, i sometimes go into rants about it and you aren't the only one being called uptight for being choosy about the people you choose to associate with, I have lost friends for choosing to grow and sometimes i feel like maybe i'm overdoing it but there isn't actually a middle point when it comes to having standards so i try to choose right every time and it's not even about being a religious, for me it's about being human.

I Love the fact that by simply buttoning to the top and wearing a pair of heels the outfit looks a lot more dressier.

I totally get the struggle with having principles. Trust the moment you let those principles go the very same people will think you stupid. lol. I just do me. That shirt is fabulous!
