Gingham Skirt Styled 3 Ways

The fall fashion season is upon us thus gingham prints are back in. Now I know over here in Nigeria, we don't experience fall but hey there's such a thing as fashion trends and gingham and plaid can't be left out. I loved this skirt so much from my last post here, that I thought to show you three more ways of styling it. It's really been ages since my last lookbook so let's hop right in.

Look 1
I thought to go for a more corporate but trendy look by styling gingham on gingham! I love how the bell sleeves paired so nicely with the ruffles on the skirt. An obi belt would have even made this set look like a dress. I added a mustard blazer and red pumps for a pop of colour and of course to bring in the color block trend as well. This look would be perfect for the very daring working woman.

Look 2
This look is perfect for a brunch date or get-together with friends. I simply paired the skirt with a denim wrap top styled backward that also features this lovely bubble sleeves. I added a pink purse for a pop of colour to finish off the look as well.

Look 3
This would make a great date night look. The burgundy turtleneck crop top shows off the arms and the length of the skirt balances it off. I paired my strappy Made in Nigeria sandals from Things Nigerians Love (TNL) to complete the look. This look features just the right amount of skin to of course keep things classy. Now I've had this Bershka top for years now and it's still that perfect basic for any look.

On more ways to style, I'd pair the skirt with a black button-up shirt and black block heeled pumps for a simple work look. Another work wear idea would be to pair the skirt with a white button shirt and throw a blue blazer over it with nude pumps to complete the look. One can also opt for another mixed print look with either polkadots or stripes! The opportunities with this skirt are endless given its monochrome colour and simplicity.

You can get this skirt on Jumia Nigeria here and use my voucher code FBWXAUDU to actually get N750 off it or any other fashion or beauty purchase you make. The offer is valid till the 20th of this month. If you're unsure of shopping on Jumia, I shared tips in this post

Which look do you prefer or would you most likely wear? How else would you style this skirt?

  2. I’ve never been more confused. All 3 looks are amazing but I prefer look 2 first. There’s something about how perfect it can fit into any occasion and look 3 as well is just so cool. Look 1 is a bit serious and perfect for official runs. But the Gingham on gingham, girl, I’m absolutely loving that.

I love how well you achieved all these look. Welldone Sarah.

  5. I love how you styled all the skirt. I like the first look because the matchup of the top and skirt made it look like a two piece

  6. I love all of them, but my favorite is the first look. I would probably have gone with black pumps and a black blazer because - BLACK AND WHITE IS MY FAVORITE COMBO.
