HOW TO ROCK ANKARA 1: ACCESSORIES
Photography by me
Hey beautiful people, how was your weekend?
Today I'm stocked to be collaborating with my Chidinma of Simplyuneeke. Seeing that we were both of Nigerian decent, we thought we would show you guys two ways of rocking the ankara trend. In the past few years, you would have noticed an appreciation of the ankara African material which is popular among many Nigerians in traditional events like weddings and ceremonies. But today, it can be easily styled and taken to modern day activities hence the purpose of this collaboration.
I was initially going for a bow-tie accessory but that didn't work out so I decided to go simple with a head-wrap. I just paired my favourite pink trousers (styled here and here) with a basic tank top and then a head-wrap to spice things up. On a casual day I'd rock this look with some flats but for blog purposes I opted for my blue chunky heels last featured here. This outfit is both modern, traditional and formal don't you think?
For more inspiration check out how to rock a head-wrap and also how to tie a head-wrap.
Pants: Vintage || Shoes: Stradivarius || Headwrap, Tank Top: Thailand
