HOW TO STYLE A MIDI-SKIRT: YANES x SARAH
Photography by Peter Audu
Hey people, I hope this new month
is off to a great start for you all.
Today I'm thrilled to be
collaborating with my good friend and fellow fashion blogger Yanes of
Yanikeur. The great thing about travelling is being able to meet people from different
cultures and backgrounds. My girl Yanes is representing the Democratic Republic
of Congo so shout-out to all my Congolese and French ladies out there.
"As iron sharpens
iron, so a friend sharpens a friend."
(Proverbs 27:17 NKJV)
Now I don't know about you but in
the past the word midi-skirt made me think only of flared skirts but today's
collaboration just goes to show how wrong I was. Midi-skirts can be taken from work to play and to church depending
on the styling and this pair was previously styled here. We both went with a
monochromatic theme but I opted for a pop of pink in my purse and my girl incorporated a pop of print in her statement shoes, all great ways to spice up an outfit. I decided to step out of my comfort zone by mixing prints, I find that
stripes are easier to work with. And look who was able to fit her big head into
a hat lol. Anyways as I mentioned in this post I recently got this hat and
have been rocking it everywhere so be warned. While my outfit is perfect for
church as usual, with the addition of a blazer Yanes's look would be perfect
for work.
