Do you ever have moments when you absolutely love your body? And then other moments when you don't really like what you see? Well I do. These shots were taken last year while I was visiting Thailand, but I never posted them because I didn't like the way my body looked. Growing up, I wasn't exactly thin but neither was I fat. I was never really happy with my weight though, especially since I didn't have a flat tummy. All that changed when I joined the fitfam in 2013 and I was consistent for over a year. But now it's getting harder and harder and I'm at that point where I have to force it.  I may be struggling with my weight now but it's okay. 

 I've learnt to accept my body for what is, while still working on toning my muscles and shedding some extra pounds. I'll always be an inner fatty but this just means that I'll have to work harder to stay in shape because I love food and it shows when I neglect my workouts. At the end of the day you've just got to keep pushing because "if you don't like something about yourself, change it and if you can't change it, learn to accept it".

This is something I would have worn back in the day. I say back in the day because at the moment I prefer my skirts below my knees. And no this is not a dress, it's two separate pieces, see the importance of closet basics? Though it seems I have a way of making you think I have more dresses, remember this look here, here and here.

Thought I'd start a new series to share my thoughts on the blog. I'm still not so sure of the title "Sarah Speaks" any suggestions?

I like the idea of "Sarah Speaks" because these thoughts could be very helpful to many others.What do you mean you didn't like how your body looked in these photos?I wouldn't have realized it and frankly I still don't see a problem with how you look.Sometimes we judge ourselves so much and criticize when in reality what we see is not what others see.You look great.Otherwise,I really love the outfit because I've been digging the wearing a skirt or dress with converse lately.I'd wear it

  2. I related to the third paragraph very much! I used to wear some really short bodycon skirts but now I don't feel comfortable showing off my legs like that. Now I, too, prefer more modest lengths.

  4. I also think "Sara Speaks" is a great idea as I can't wait to hear what your thoughts on most issues are always and share with us.
    Back to the body issue, you have always looked great that I wouldn't have any problem with the body issue if i were you. But its true some times we add and at times we loose so its always normal to every woman. No worries!
    Your casual chic outfit looks so great I love skater dresses and with some sport shoes I can rock it to school or shopping Saturday. Enjoy your Evening

  5. There are days when I feel good, when I love my body and I feel very good about it. I wasn't thin, I wasn't fat but I was alright for me. Was being the operative term. Now, I think I'm too thin and I can't look at myself right again. I want go back to loving my body. When it was just right for me.

    ANYWAY, of course I would wear this look out! Though, I doubt I'd rock it like you do! <3

Ugh Sarah, most of us fatty bombom wish to have your body, but i know what you mean, i have so many things i dont wear or rather save till when i get the ideal body and the funny part was i didnt even work towards achieving this ideal body of mine, lol but 2016 is definitely my year, i have started working out and eating right and seeing result and actually more happy. I think the key to being happy with your body is realizing that yes you may not be where you want to be but there is something you can do about it, if you dont like something change it.   10. There's that time of the month I absolutely hate the way my body looks. It seems like everything I wear looks so off. Funny thing is, even when I'm feeling all funny there's always someone wishing they looked the way I did so I've learnt to love my body and self on good and bad days.
    Love your outfit. Would wear it to the movies or lunch with the girls.

  11. I love the title 'Sarah Speaks', cause that makes it your you see it.
    Till you said otherwise, I was under the impression that you are in a dress. From my view, your body looks great in this outfit, honestly. Loving the whole combination, am a sucker for dresses/skirts paired with sneakers any's such a comfortable combo.

    I have forever had issues with my body, face, legs, thighs, arms, tummy....everything. But with time I realized that life goes on whether your body is 'perfect' or not. In that moment you learn to appreciate yourself, and with the strength and will you change the things that are possible. Thank you for sharing this topic Sara, it's definitely one that haunts almost every woman out there. Looking forward to more in this section.

    @Bash I can totally relate with you. The best we can do it to exercise, eat right and work on being comfortable with oud bodies. And thank you though I'm positive you would rock this look as well.

    @Grace it has to do with preference, I just fell more comfortable when my legs are covered. Hence the reason I prefer trousers to skirts.
    @Simply, you just took the words right out of my mouth. We can definitely do something if we don't like what we see. And I saw the post, been trying to read it but I keep getting side-tracked but it must be done.
